3 of 6 Door-to-Door Optional
Door-to-door service
The bus picks up and drops off directly at your front door. This is completely optional — most families use the standard stop-based service at no extra cost. Door-to-door service is subject to availability and dependent on your location.
🚏
Not sure? Skip this step.
All children are automatically assigned a nearby stop at no extra charge. Door-to-door is only needed if you want pickup directly at your home. You can add it later by contacting the admin.
ℹ️Available on elementary routes only. Minyan / Yeshiva routes are not eligible for door-to-door.
Toggle on only if you want door-to-door for that route

Registration for the upcoming school year is only accepted if all outstanding balances from previous years are paid in full. Registration is not confirmed until you receive written confirmation from DNW and an official invoice has been issued by the DNW office. Families with outstanding balances must contact the office directly to make payment arrangements before submitting registration. A registration deposit is non-refundable and must be paid within 48 hours of the invoice being sent to secure your child’s spot. You have one (1) week from registration to cancel without penalty; after that, fifty percent (50%) of the annual transportation fee becomes immediately due unless DNW is able to fill the vacated seat, in which case charges may be adjusted at DNW’s discretion.

Instalment Plan. Tuition and transportation fees are divided into ten (10) equal instalments, payable over ten months.

Payment Schedule. The first payment must be received by August 15. Subsequent instalments will be billed on the first day of each month beginning October 1.

Credit Card Surcharge. A 2.4% surcharge applies to all credit card payments (Visa, Mastercard, American Express).

Credit Card on File. A valid credit card must be kept securely on file for all families, regardless of the selected payment method.

Alternative Payment Arrangements. Alternative payment arrangements (e.g. cheque or EFT) must be discussed in advance and approved by the DNW Registration Department.

Late Payments & Declines. Late payments or credit card declines will incur a $25 administrative fee if payment is not received within five (5) business days of the due date. If payment remains outstanding beyond this grace period, bus service will be suspended until the account is brought current. Bounced cheques will incur all applicable bank fees plus a $25 DNW administrative fee.

Snow days, weather-related cancellations, or service suspensions due to safety concerns are not refundable. DNW makes transportation decisions based on road safety and applicable Ministry of Transportation (MTO) standards, regardless of whether individual schools remain open. Subsidized Minyan routes operate only on days when the schools they serve are open; no refunds are issued for days when these schools are closed.

Routes are subject to traffic, weather, construction, and other uncontrollable factors, so schedules are approximate. Students must be at the designated pick-up location at least five (5) minutes before the scheduled time; for residential pick-ups, students should be ready at the front door five minutes in advance. Wait in a single-file line and board only when the bus comes to a complete stop and the driver opens the door. Drivers will not wait for late arrivals and will not depart early. At drop-off, a designated adult must be present at least five minutes prior to arrival; if a child is not met, contact the DNW office immediately. Do not chase or attempt to stop the bus once it has departed a stop — repeated violations will result in immediate suspension of service with no refund.

Photo ID bus cards are issued to all registered students prior to the start of the school year and may be required for boarding. Parents must provide a current, high-quality photograph of their child before the school year for DNW’s RFID and identification systems. Seating assignments are determined solely by the DNW office based on safety, supervision needs, and route logistics; students must sit in their assigned seats at all times. Failure to comply with seating assignments may result in disciplinary action.

Expected behaviour — all students must:

  • Remain seated at all times while the bus is in motion
  • Keep hands, feet, and head inside the bus
  • Follow the driver’s instructions immediately
  • Use respectful language and behaviour, and keep the bus clean
  • Refrain from eating or drinking on the bus (allergy and safety reasons)

Unacceptable behaviour includes (but is not limited to):

  • Standing, walking, or changing seats while the bus is moving
  • Bullying, teasing, intimidation, or harassment
  • Throwing objects inside or outside the bus
  • Yelling inappropriate or demeaning comments
  • Refusing to share seats or blocking aisles
  • Vandalism or damage to DNW property

Behavioural issues are addressed as follows:

  • First incident — written warning issued to parent/guardian
  • Second incident — suspension from bus service for three (3) school days
  • Third incident — suspension for one (1) full week
  • Fourth incident — permanent removal from the bus route for the remainder of the school year

Parents remain financially responsible for the remainder of the school year even if a student is permanently removed due to behaviour. DNW reserves the right to immediately suspend service for serious or dangerous misconduct.

Parents/guardians are financially responsible for any damage caused by their child. DNW will seek full reimbursement for repairs or replacements, and failure to pay for damages will result in suspension of services.

DNW collects personal information necessary to provide safe and effective transportation, including student and parent names and contact details, emergency and medical information, identification data, behavioural records, and audio/video recordings where applicable. Buses are equipped with video and audio recording systems; footage may be reviewed internally or shared with schools or law enforcement when required. Personal information is stored securely and shared only as necessary to deliver services or comply with legal obligations.
